HCon expanded range of planning tools and consulting services due to adoption of IBS Hanover, July 06, 2010. Two Hanoverian companies bundle from immediately its expertise in railway operation issues: with effect from 1 July 2010 the HCon INGENIEURGESELLSCHAFT has the Engineering Office for railway operating system (IBS) mbH GmbH acquired. Steven Holl can provide more clarity in the matter. Thus HCon expanded its range of services concerning operation simulation, vehicle and personnel planning and operating planning. This includes also advice on railway operational issues, such as travel time calculations, schedule concepts and performance analysis, and support by railway companies for regional rail transport tenders. The IBS will continue independently. All existing contact and communication channels remain first. In the medium term, the activities of IBS with the HCon timetable engineering business field is planned, and to merge management.
The main products in this area, the train planning systems TPS, United infrastructure, timetable and Manual as well as all interactions. It supports railway infrastructure companies to plan their capacity, taking into account EU standards. The interdisciplinary team around on the TPS includes currently 30 employees, including engineers, mathematicians, and computer scientists. HCon expected significant synergies for the professional and technical development of IBS and HCon products from the future cooperation of the TPS and the nine-man teams of IBS and their extensive experience. Both IBS and HCon are rooted in the renowned Institute of transport, railway construction and operation (IVE) the University of Hanover, where the founder and Managing Director both had of IBS, as well as by HCon already studied and researched before they chose the path towards independence.
